Wow! It’s hard to
believe the year is more than half over.
We are grateful that the weather is starting to warm up and we can go
outside for recess again. Please make
sure you are sending your child in appropriate clothing to go outside.
We all had a great time this past week on our field trip to
the Clark Planetarium. These are some of
the things we did while we were there; watched a 3-d movie on the IMAX screen
about the Artic, had a fun time looking around the exhibits walking on the Moon
and Mars, and learned about the different planets while watching a movie in the
dome theater.
Here is a little bit about what we are working on now and
what is coming up.
Wednesday February 20th is SEP’s.
Math- We have started measurement and will be working
on area and perimeter. Please continue working on
multiplication facts at home. We will be
having an ice cream party to celebrate passing off our facts soon.
Reading- Third graders should be reading 25 minutes or more
5 days a week. Please be sure to mark
this on the homework sheets and be sure to send them every Friday so we can
keep track of how many days we are reading.
Science- Mrs. Taylor is teaching a unit on simple machines
and everyone has the opportunity to participate and make their own simple
machine. They will be due on February 19th. We will have them on display
during SEP’s.
